I love kangnam! I would drive to RB from Chula Vista to get the best kbbq I've ever been thus far! Food, service, ambiance (and banchan) are the best, I pretty much go here every pay day with my sister lol. The inside is very spacious and plenty of room to bring a big group of friends, family gatherings, or just go on a date with a significant other. 10/10 recommend!

Was in the area for a doctor's appointment and was craving some KBBQ. Found this place and decided to give it a try. The parking spaces are a bit tight, but the restaurant was easy to find and quite spacious. They have a great lunch menu with adult and kid prices. There was a decent variety of choices and sides and the servers were so kind and helpful. They have a few robots that run around delivering so it was fun for the kids to grab the dishes from the robots. Major TIP: If you happen to order a side that comes in a metal container, make sure you put it on the grill to heat up. I ordered the cheese fondue (nacho cheese) and showed my kids how to dip the fries in the cheese. Call me nostalgic, but fries and nacho cheese was a staple in middle school. Hubby laughed but agreed it tasted pretty good. Overall our bellies were full and happy and we enjoyed our lunch.

Every time we visit our daughter and daughter in law, they take us to a new-to-us K-bbq spot. This has been my favorite! We arrived for an early dinner around 5pm. They have a Yelp check in tablet when you enter. They also have a Yelp waitlist - I definitely recommend using that! We only waited around five minutes for our table. The big booth was plenty roomy for the five of us. Someone came over right away to bring us water, loved that. Our waiter came by shortly after to take initial orders which we always leave up to our daughter. The banchan here was great; I think I ordered half the items on the list. The cheese corn was really good as well as the spicy tofu stew and egg custard. I wish it wasn't so hot, I would have ate more. The cucumber salad and japchae were good not great. They also offered beer by the glass or pitche with three IPA offerings - say less! Service was excellent. We were a little disappointed that the robot didn't bring any of our food. But so grateful Our waiter came over often and was good about changing out our grill and bringing more water and napkins. I am looking forward to coming here again, definitely recommend.

When this spot was still olleh, my group of friends would come here. Came back to celebrate for our friends birthdays. I love how they have a great deal for birthday celebrants and we had 4 celebrants that time. Service was quick, their banchans were okay but some were lacking with flavor or texture. I realize their meat portion was a bit smaller than when it was Olleh and so was their tofu soup. However, nothing beats the seating for the group we had and service was pretty on top making sure each table got what they've ordered. For some reason their kimchi was just not to my liking. It has a sweeter taste but very pasty compared to other Korean spots I've tried.

Food at Korean BBQ is pretty hard to mess up, and Kangnam delivers. Prime or Choice menus are both great, if there isn't something you want specifically on the Prime Menu, keep the cost down with the choice menu. Service here was lacking sadly, got stuck in the corner, had to ask multiple times for different plates after I watched them be delivered to other tables that sat and ordered after us. Constantly had to flail my arms to even get a servers attention. Sadly we've been here multiple times, this was not a one time occurance. The ambiance really depends on the day. It can be really loud, and sometimes the vents are not turned on, so it gets pretty smoky smelling. Be prepared to leave smelling like a bonfire.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon around 3 pm and there was less then a 3-minute wait! Me and my partner chose the Premium menu. Food: 5/5 Honestly the quality of the food was spectacular! I really like how they offer boneless galbi and a marinated teriyaki beef belly. Those were my top picks! Also, I would highly recommend getting the jalapeno slices with garlic and ssamjang! It pairs perfectly with any meat. I usually reach for this sauce more than the other sauces. I also like how they have tteakbokki (spicy rice cakes) which you have to cook on the grill. Surprisingly they have a lot of food options which makes this place differ from other kbbq places in San Diego! Service 5/5: The service was fast and the servers always came by to change our grill or take our order without us having to ask! Amazing food quality and service.
